Peter Sumners is an associate attorney at MLM. His law practice includes all aspects of municipal and school law, with a primary focus on labor and employment law, collective bargaining, procurement and contracts, public records and open meeting laws, and education law. In addition to his representation of municipalities and schools, he is a frequent lecturer at trainings and workshops on municipal and education law topics throughout Massachusetts. Peter has litigated cases before the Massachusetts Appeals Court, Superior Court, and District Court, as well as administrative agencies such as the Massachusetts Division of Administrative Law Appeals, Division of Labor Relations, Civil Service Commission, Division of Unemployment Assistance, Supervisor of Public Records, and Attorney General’s Office. He has been with the firm since 2015.

Peter earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from Drury University, and his J.D. from Boston University School of Law, where he served as a Notes and Articles Editor for the Review of Banking & Financial Law.

Peter is a member of the Massachusetts bar.
