Attorney Peter C. Sumners Joins Shareholders at MLM

Murphy, Lamere & Murphy is proud to announce that attorney Peter C. Sumners has been elevated to shareholder at the firm. Peter joins fellow shareholders Michelle McNulty, Paige Tobin, Caitlin Mulrooney, and Josh Coleman as part of MLM’s ownership team.

Peter joined MLM in 2015 and has worked extensively with the firm’s public and institutional clients over the past 10 years. Peter’s areas of practice include all aspects of municipal and school law, ranging from labor and employment law, collective bargaining, public construction, procurement and contracts, public records and open meeting laws, and education law, to school and municipal finance, conflicts of interest, licensing and permitting, zoning and land use, civil rights, elections, and First Amendment Issues. Peter is an experienced litigator at courts and administrative agencies throughout Massachusetts and provides frequent trainings and workshops for MLM’s clients on municipal and school law.

Prior to joining MLM, Peter worked at the Massachusetts Division of Administrative Law Appeals, where his work focused primarily on public employee retirement appeals. Peter is a graduate of Drury University, magna cum laude, and Boston University School of Law, where he served as a Notes and Articles Editor for the Review of Banking & Financial Law.

Peter is a member of the Massachusetts Bar.
