Marianne Peters to Lead Administrator Training on Title IX and Manifestation Determinations

MLM attorney Marianne Peters is scheduled to lead a training for school administrators this fall entitled Legal Issues: Manifestation Determinations and Title IX Investigations - What EVERY Administrator MUST Know.

This training, offered in conjunction with Academic Discoveries, LLC, will be geared toward building-based and district-based school administrators and provide guidelines, strategies, and recommendations on for administrators to complete manifestation determinations and Title IX investigations effectively and efficiently. Marianne’s presentation will offer a detailed walk through the manifestation determination process, offering insights on ensuring due process, as well as the changes and benefits of new Title IX laws and related expectations for school districts. At the end of her presentation, Attorney Peters will provide opportunities for administrators to ask about specific issues or concerns they may have relating to these two topics.

Marianne is an experienced education attorney whose practice at MLM includes all aspects of school law, with a primary focus in school policy, Title IX, general and special education, student discipline, and student services. In addition to her representation of school districts, Marianne is a frequent lecturer at professional conferences, workshops, and seminars on general and special education topics throughout Massachusetts. Academic Discoveries, LLC is an organization founded by Nadine G. Ekstrom, PhD, a former school administrator and educator, to provide professional development opportunities and program reviews for educational institutions.

The training is scheduled from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM on Thursday, November 21, 2024, and will include breakfast and lunch for attendees. It is open to all school administrators and Title IX Coordinators, and will be held just off the Boston-Worcester Turnpike at 2 Park Central Drive, Suite 100, Southborough, MA.
