Marianne Peters is an associate attorney at MLM. Her law practice includes all aspects of school law, with a primary focus in school policy, Title IX, general and special education, student discipline, and student services. Marianne has litigated cases at the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Superior Court and District Court, as well as administrative agencies such as the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and the Bureau of Special Education Appeals (BSEA). In addition to her representation of school districts, she is a frequent lecturer at professional conferences, workshops, and seminars on general and special education topics throughout Massachusetts. Prior to law school, Marianne worked as a school psychologist in a public school system, and during law school she interned with the Honorable Judge Vickie Henry of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. She has been with the firm since 2018.

Education and Licenses

Marianne earned a B.S. in Psychology and Elementary/Special Education from Montana State University and an Ed.S. in School Psychology from the University of Montana. She earned her J.D. from Boston University School of Law, where she served as Note Editor for the Public Interest Law Journal.

Marianne is a member of the Massachusetts bar and is also licensed to practice at the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Professional Associations

Marianne is a member of the Massachusetts Council of School Attorneys, and she is an Adjunct Instructor at Bay Path University, where she teaches courses in special education and school law.
