Attorney Laura Bermudez Joins Murphy, Lamere & Murphy, P.C.
Experienced litigator and education attorney Laura B. Bermudez has joined Murphy, Lamere & Murphy, P.C., where her practice will primarily focus on general and special education law, student services, student discipline, Title IX, and school policy.
Laura is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and from Northeastern University School of Law. After law school, Laura began her career as a criminal defense attorney, litigating cases throughout the Commonwealth at the Massachusetts Appeals Court Single Justice, Superior Court, and District Court, as well as the Massachusetts Parole Board. In 2019, Northeastern Law Magazine profiled Laura and her litigation before the Parole Board. Over the past several years, Laura has transitioned her practice into the field of school law, where she has extensive experience at the Massachusetts Bureau of Special Education Appeals.
In addition to her traditional legal work, Laura also brings many years experience leading workshops and trainings in the areas of school law, student discipline, civil commitment hearings, and trial practice. Laura also guest lectured on criminal justice at Sam Houston State University.
Laura is a member of the Massachusetts bar. She is also a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Massachusetts Women’s Bar Association, and Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. MLM is excited to welcome her to the team!
